                                                                        Will you walk or run a mile (or 3?) to save lives from malaria,

reduce Mission Central debt, … AND HAVE FUN?


State College District MILES FOR MISSIONS Walk/Run-a-Thon



1. MARK YOUR CALENDAR for YOUR event: Sunday, April 29, 2:00-5:00, Grange Park

     From PA-45, enter Gate 4 on Homan Lane. GPS: 149 Homan Lane, Centre Hall. Our parking crew

     will direct you. We will gather inside Building 33 on Rhone Avenue, inside Grange Park.

     Here’s our schedule for the event:

     1:00  Volunteers arrive to set up for the afternoon.

     2:00  Participants arrive and welcomed inside Building 33. Turn in sponsor sheets and donations.

               All participants will receive a colorful Miles for Missions wristband!

     2:45  Walk/Run-a-thon orientation and prayer. Walk/Run-a-thon begins!

     4:00  Gather in Building 33 for snacks and a celebratory worship service featuring Bishop Park

                and the Covenant Church Youth Band from Lock Haven!

     5:00  Event ends. Clean up crew tidies up our venue.


2. HELP US PROMOTE YOUR DISTRICT EVENT in bulletins, announcements, newsletters,

     youth group meetings, and by displaying our flyer, below (and pdf file attached). You may also

     download several 16:9 layouts for projection in your worship services (download links, below).

3. ENCOURAGE PERSONS OF ALL AGES to participate as Walkers/Runners. Ask friends,

     family, church members and neighbors to sponsor you! Every dollar raised will help people

     through Imagine No Malaria and reducing Mission Central debt. The official Sponsor Form

     is on pages 3-4, below (and pdf file attached).

     Our Walk/Run-a-thon route is level and paved for safe, easy walking. There will be water stations

     at the start/finish and midpoint. We expect to have EMS personnel on hand to ensure your safety.
