BASIC COURSE - LAY SERVANT MINISTIRES
The Lay Servant Ministries Basic Course will be offered the first weekend in May; Friday, May 1 from 6:30-9pm and Saturday, May 2 from 9am-5pm at Sprucetown UMC, 177 Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills.
You must complete all 10 hours of training to receive your certificate. Course topics such as servant and spiritual leadership, caring ministries, and sharing your faith will enhance your understanding about the church, your role in it and enhance leadership skills!
Read through the booklet to prepare for our class time and note any questions or thoughts you'd like to share during our time together. Box lunches from Simply Kat's Katering are available to order; details will be sent with your registration confirmation. Or you may opt to bring a bag lunch.

You are invited to participate in a Basic Lay Speaking Class: Living Our United Methodist Beliefs, a meaningful opportunity to deepen your understanding of our Wesleyan heritage and what it means to live out our faith today.

This course explores the foundations of United Methodist belief and practice, including:
• How doctrine connects to the mission and movement of Methodism
• The historical development of Methodist denominations
• The Wesleyan understanding of grace and the means of grace
• How spiritual disciplines shape lives of holiness and purpose
We will be using the Leader’s Guide Living Our United Methodist Beliefs, along with companion resources that help bring our history and theology to life in practical ways.
Whether you are pursuing certification or simply want to grow in your faith, this class offers a thoughtful and engaging space to learn, reflect, and connect.
